Prayer
The Phoenix Christian Reformed Church operates within the atmosphere of prayer. Prayer surrounds all that we do. All of our activities are done within this environment of prayer. We take prayer seriously.
We can't do much to effect the world around us, yet we have a God who can. As the apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:20, we have a God who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Because of this promise, we are not afraid to ask. We dare to ask him for anything. Jesus even promised in Matthew 18:19-20, "I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
In response to this promise, we gather together to pray. On Wednesday nights, people gather to pray for the various needs of the church and its members. On Sunday mornings people gather to offer prayers of praise and thanksgiving to God. On Thursday mornings people gather to pray for people we love who do not yet know salvation in Jesus. Many of us look forward to these times of prayer, as it is a time when we feel closest to our God. We also honor all prayer requests and bring them faithfully to God.
We invite anyone to give their prayer requests to us and we will bring them to God. If you have a special reason to praise and thank God, we would like to hear about it, so we can present that to God, as well. Anyone wanting to join us in praying, will always be welcome.
Not everyone finds it easy to pray, and praying in the presence of others, makes many people uncomfortable. Therefore, we offer this regular teaching on prayer. A new lesson will appear each week. Check this space regularly and learn with us, and watch your prayer life improve.
